Zovo Spending Report

Turn a bank or credit card statement into a spending report and find your subscriptions.

Zovo Spending Report turns a bank or credit card statement (text PDF, CSV or Excel export, or pasted rows) into a budget view: spending by category, income against spending, monthly totals, top merchants and the recurring charges you pay, with the next expected date and the cost per year. Merchant names are cleaned ("SQ *BLUE BOTTLE 1234 OAKLAND" becomes "Blue Bottle") and categories come from fixed rules that you can change. Transfers between your own accounts and credit card payments are not counted as spending. Downloads: an Excel workbook and a one-page PDF summary.

What it does

Reads text PDF statements, bank CSV and Excel exports, and pasted rows
Merchant names cleaned from card processor codes, store numbers and cities
Rule-based categories: groceries, dining, transport, travel, shopping, subscriptions, utilities, rent and mortgage, health, insurance, fees and more
Transfers between your own accounts and credit card payments are kept out of spending
Recurring charges: weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, quarterly or yearly, with the next expected date and the cost per year
Excel workbook (transactions, month by category summary, recurring, merchants) and a one-page PDF summary

Limitations

No bank connection: it reads only the file or rows you give it
Text PDFs only: scanned or photographed statements need OCR first
Categories are rule-based and can be wrong; correct them with an override
A summary of your data, not financial or tax advice
Up to 60 PDF pages and 20,000 transactions per request

ChatGPT: once Zovo Spending Report is approved, add it from the ChatGPT plugin directory.
